CUPERTINO-ADJACENT, CA — Pear Inc. today announced the PearPhone Fold, the company's long-rumored entry into foldable devices, arriving in stores later this year.

The device features a 7.8-inch inner display, a durable new hinge mechanism rated for over 400,000 folds, and Pear's latest silicon built for all-day multitasking.

Pear says the Fold represents the biggest change to its lineup in a decade, with a redesigned operating system built around side-by-side apps and a new gesture language for the folding form factor.

Pre-orders open next Friday, with availability expected in stores by the end of the month.
